Construction along the top portion of I-695 in Baltimore County will cause delays for riders during non-rush hours, the Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration recently announced.
Work on the highway’s median, aimed to ease congestion and improve reliability, will occur between Stevenson and Joppa roads. This portion of the highway spans from about to Pikesville to Parkville.
Crews will close one lane on both sides of the beltway from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., and 8 p.m. to 5 a.m., and crews can occasionally close two lanes beginning at 10 p.m. at night. Work will not be done during morning and evening rush hours.
The project is expected to continue through spring 2024. Until then, alternative routes include MD 130 (Greenspring Valley Road), MD 133 (Old Court Road), MD 25 (Falls Road), I-95 and I-895.
