The Historic East Towson community, which has been enmeshed in a legal battle to preserve the neighborhood from the unwanted Red Maple Place development, is holding a Juneteenth Music Festival on Saturday, June 19from noon to 6:00pm.

The festival is billed as a celebration of the history and culture of Historic East Towson, one of the region’s oldest African American communities.

The Music Festival will take place at the legendary Elks Lodge, which has long been the social and cultural heart of this historic community, founded by slaves from the Hampton Plantation, over 200 years ago.

Scheduled to perform at the event are singer/songwriter Carly Troyer, the great Jordan Gillis Band, vocal sensation Katyrah Love, jazz/rock fusion guitarist Noah Pierre, and the Diamonds of Jazz featuring Larzine.

All proceeds will go to the Northeast Towson Improvement Association for the benefit of the Historic East Towson community and its residents.

Public parking is located only minutes away at either the Baltimore County Public Library or the Cinemark Theatres.
