From Councilman David Marks:

I am working with the Towson Area Citizens on Patrol to hold an open house to discuss how citizens can become active in the COP program, and to encourage interest from those neighborhoods not included in this initiative.

The Citizens on Patrol program provides support to police officers by looking for suspicious activity and informing citizens how to guard against crime.

A list of participating communities can be found at the following Web Site: http://towsonareacop.wordpress.com/communities/

The meeting will be held on Monday, November 25 at 6:00 p.m. at Brightview Towson (20 East Burke Avenue). NOTE REVISED START TIME!

As we increase the police presence in Towson and look at every possible way to improve public safety, it’s impossible to overlook the importance of our Citizens on Patrol. We have glaring gaps in places like eastern Towson and the downtown core, and we should try to fill those gaps.

In the event of inclement weather that closes public schools, the meeting will be postponed.
