Baltimore County Public Schools officials told a packed auditorium of Towson-area parents at Carver School Tuesday night that they planned to recommend opening a new school at the site of the former Loch Raven Elementary and expanding Cromwell Valley Elementary as short-term solutions for overcrowded conditions at central area elementary schools.

But after the informational portion of the meeting ended and the audience had a chance to comment on the plans, the disconnect between the affected communities and BCPS was clear: Officials want to add as many seats as possible to address what they are calling an overcrowding crisis in the central area, and impacted communities said they were feel like they were brought into the process too late.
